Verification
The verified badge is made up of three steps – email, phone number and ID. This keeps fake profiles out and builds trust for safe deals. Your IBAN is separate and NOT part of the badge: you only need it if you ship as a seller and receive payment online.
Phone number
Confirm your mobile number with an SMS code – protection against bots and a second factor at login.
Bank account (IBAN)
Only if you ship as a seller and receive payment online (e.g. payouts from buyer protection) do you verify your bank account. The IBAN is NOT part of the verified badge.
ID document
An ID check (photo ID + selfie) confirms your identity – required if you sell with shipping, otherwise voluntary for the badge. You don't need it to buy. Minimum age: 18 (the date of birth is checked against the ID).
When do I need what?
Browsing and buying work without verification – whatever the amount. Selling with shipping and payouts require IBAN + ID.
The verification badge
Verified members get a badge that is visible everywhere: on the listing card, in the seller box on the detail and auction pages, on the profile and in the chat. The badge only appears once all three steps are complete – email, mobile number and a checked ID document. This lets you see at a glance who you are dealing with.
Company (business accounts only)
If you have a business account, we check your UID against the official Swiss commercial register (Zefix): does the company exist, is the entry active, and does the name match your account? You enter the UID, see the name, legal form and registered office from the register, and confirm – that saves typos. If everything matches, your company is confirmed. If the name differs or the entry is deleted or in liquidation, a person takes a look; only a UID that does not exist in the register at all is rejected. Important: as a business account you can only offer shipping while your company is confirmed – pickup always works, and your existing listings stay online. We re-check confirmed companies from time to time; if something changes in the register, you'll hear from us by notification and email.
Address
Your residential address is confirmed where the money flows: as soon as you receive payouts as a seller, our payment partner checks it as part of their legal due-diligence duties. For this they need an official invoice no older than six months – an electricity or phone bill, for example. This runs directly with them; there is no separate step for it on Fundort, and we never get to see the document, only the result. You do not need any of this to browse, buy or post listings.
