Image guidelines: no contact details in photos
To keep buyers and sellers protected and prevent the marketplace from being bypassed, listing photos must not contain contact details. Such images are rejected already at upload.
What does not belong in a photo
The following are not allowed in listing photos:
- Phone and mobile numbers
- E-mail addresses
- Websites and links (URLs)
- QR codes and other 2D codes
- Business cards or a note placed next to the item with contact details
- Postal and street addresses
This applies to printed, painted and handwritten text in the image.
Why this rule exists
The entire process — from first contact to handover — runs securely through Fundort. That is what makes buyer protection, secure messaging and reviews work. Putting contact details into a photo bypasses this protection. Your contact details are exchanged automatically anyway once a purchase goes through.
What happens at upload
If the system detects contact details in an image, the image is rejected immediately and not added to the listing. You get a notice and can use a photo without contact details instead.
Exception for business accounts
Service, job and real-estate listings are designed for direct contact. There, contact details in the image are allowed — the image block only applies to the other listing types (buy now, auction, booking, rental).
Which image formats are allowed?
You can upload photos in JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF and AVIF. HEIC photos from an iPhone (and AVIF) are converted to JPG automatically at upload. The maximum number of images depends on the listing type and is shown to you at upload.
