What is Fundort?
Fundort is a Swiss online marketplace where you can buy, bid, rent and book. Fundort connects buyers and sellers and keeps things safe with buyer protection and identity verification.
What does Fundort cost?
Browsing and creating listings is free. Buyers never pay a fee on Fundort. Sellers pay a commission only when a deal closes — the same rate for pickup as for shipping. Shipping via Fundort exists only within a price range; there buyer protection and secured payment are part of the rate, outside it only pickup is possible. See the Fees topic for the current amounts.
How does buyer protection work?
For protected purchases your money is held in escrow and only released to the seller once the item has arrived and is as described. If something is wrong, you can open a case within the deadline. See the Buyer protection topic.
How do I pay safely?
Always pay through Fundort (card/TWINT via our payment provider) – never by advance transfer outside the platform. Only payments made through Fundort are covered by buyer protection.
Do I need to verify my identity?
Not to buy – whatever the amount. Identity verification (KYC) is needed if you sell with shipping and get paid out of escrow; that's where ID and IBAN belong. Otherwise verification is voluntary and earns you the verified badge.
What if something is wrong with an order?
First contact the seller via chat. For protected purchases you can open a buyer-protection case within the deadline. If you are stuck, our team helps – just write to us via the contact form.
Why can I only pick up cheaper items?
Safe shipping on Fundort always comes with buyer protection – you pay before you have the item in hand, so we secure the amount. For you as a buyer this is free: the protection is part of the Fundort commission and is not charged separately. Shipping is available from a small minimum amount – for very cheap items the payment and handling costs are out of proportion to the item's value. That is why cheaper items are offered for pickup only – handing over in person, you check the item directly and need no shipping protection. Shipping is not forbidden, though: buyer and seller may agree on it in the chat. That happens without buyer protection and at their own risk — Fundort accepts no liability for it.
Why was my listing removed?
If a listing breaches our policies (e.g. prohibited content, spam, wrong category or a copyright infringement), our moderation team can remove it. You'll then receive an email and a notification with the exact reason – if you have questions, just reply to the email. While a purchase or booking with buyer protection is in progress, the listing won't be removed until that transaction is properly completed.
