Paying & fees
Fundort is generally free for buyers. Certain services incur fees — always shown transparently before the step in question.
What fees are there?
- Sales commission — only on a successful deal, always paid by the seller. Small sales cost a flat fee up to a price limit; above it a percentage with a cap applies — the same for both handover types; no commission on shipping costs. Shipping via Fundort exists only within the price range stated on the fees page — there buyer protection and secured payment are part of the rate; below and above it, only pickup is possible. The commission is never more than half of your proceeds — a sale therefore never costs you more than it brings in. If the deal falls through there is no commission — and one already paid is refunded.
- For buyers: no fee. Ever.
- Booking fee on confirmed bookings — paid by the host, never the guest.
- Brokerage fee on rentals.
- Listing fee for service, job and real-estate ads — once per ad. Your listing goes live immediately; the fee goes on your next invoice.
- Company branding subscription (business accounts: company name/logo on listings).
- Profile links subscription (private accounts: website and social links on the profile).
- ID verification — one-off flat fee.
- Optional visibility (boost).
Can a fee eat up my entire proceeds?
No. The sales commission is never more than half of your proceeds. So if the hammer falls at CHF 1.–, you pay 50 centimes instead of the small-sale flat fee — a sale always earns you more than it costs you.
There is also a minimum price: fixed prices and auction start prices begin at CHF 1.–. Odd amounts remain fine, CHF 25.65 for example. Only “Giveaway” has no price — and no commission either.
Welcome bonus: what is actually free?
If your account has the welcome bonus, your first transactions are free of the commission. How many you have left is shown in your account under Fees.
- One shared quota: sales, rentals, bookings and listing fees all draw from the same pool. A rental uses up the same free transaction as a sale.
- No expiry date: the free transactions do not lapse, they get used up.
- Shipping as well as pickup: both handover types are free.
- Not waived: boost, company branding, the profile links subscription, ID verification and postage.
- If a transaction is cancelled, you get the free transaction back.
Nothing changes for buyers — they never pay a fee anyway.
What does buyer protection cost me?
How do I pay?
Your purchases are paid as usual through our payment partner (card/TWINT/wallet); for pickup, directly between the parties.
Platform fees are not collected in advance. You use the service straight away — sell, rent out, publish a listing — and we collect the fees that arise. Typically once a week you receive an invoice with a Swiss QR payment part by email and in your account, payable within the period stated on it. Before every step that costs something, you see beforehand which amount will go on your invoice.
